As our 2025-2026 board begins our term, we’re excited to commence with a new communication strategy and opportunities for all neighbors to engage. This newsletter will have a regular cadence of news, events, stories, and history from the neighborhood. Below we added a link to a podcast Archive Atlanta did on our neighborhood. If you have any interesting, unique, or fun stories about the neighborhood, please send them to jon.birdsong@atlantaventures.com.

2025 Membership Drive
Yes, it comes around this time every year. The membership dues fuel our security patrols, social events, beautification, island maintenance and more. For 2025, The Sherwood Forest Civic Association has kept dues for each household at $450 in accordance with approval of the budget at the Fall Membership meeting. Last year we had 138 registered residences, and we need your help to surpass this number. We will be applying positive persistence to all to reach our neighborhood’s full potential!
Please take five minutes to renew your membership through one of these options:
- Venmo: Pay "@SFCivicAssoc" $450 - include your name and address in the "What's it for?" field.
- Mail: Drop off check at mailbox located at the roundabout at Jeness Island – Robin Hood and Doncaster - or mail a check to the SFCA mailbox: Sherwood Forest Civic Association, 156 Robin Hood Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.
- BillPay through your bank: Use the SFCA name and address above; include your address and street name for the account number. If a phone number is needed, use 678-427-1336.
- Credit Card on our website: Current members can login at https://sherwoodforestatl.org, click the “PAY DUES” button, then choose “Pay by Credit Card” and follow the instructions.
We also want to get ahead of first dibs on sponsorship opportunities for the highly coveted space in our annual directory. If you’re interested early and often, please send us a note!
Events
Coming together as neighbors makes a strong neighborhood. Now that Covid and its reclusive bad habits are behind us, we can regain the rhythm of social fun and camaraderie! The first start is putting the following dates on your calendar, today!
- Spring SFCA Meeting at Ansley Golf Club on Tuesday, April 8th 6:00 – 9:00 pm
- Easter Egg Hunt at Magnolia Island – still confirming dates between 4/12 and 4/19
- Summer Picnic on Barnesdale on Saturday, June 7th 5:00 – 8:00 pm
- SFCA Fall Meeting at Ansley Golf Club on Tuesday, October 14th 6:00 - 9:00 pm
- Halloween Pizza Party and Pinata at Magnolia Island on Friday, October 31st 5:00 pm
- Holiday Party graciously hosted at the home of Craig and Dylan Kuglar - 199 Robin Hood - on Saturday, December 6th 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Security Update
The first two months of 2025 have been relatively quiet, with only a few security incidents reported:
- Jan 3rd Friar Tuck - Cameras captured a man with a hammer peeking around a neighbor’s garage at 12:30am. There was no damage and no other reports from neighbors of similar activity.
- Feb 4th Little John Trail - Reporting of a confused man in their backyard. The man moved down the street after the neighbor approached.
- Feb 9th Little John Trail - Reporting of a man ringing the doorbell at 2:55am. He rang the bell again at 3:35am without the sweatshirt and then left. No damages were reported
As a reminder, residents should call 911 first to report any crime, suspicious persons or activity. After calling 911, please send details to our security liaison to notify our security team:
