VRWA monitors state and federal legislative activity that may impact drinking water and wastewater systems across Virginia. Our goal is to keep members informed of key issues, emerging regulations, and funding opportunities that affect daily operations and long-term planning.

VRWA tracks legislation and regulatory discussions related to:
- Drinking water and wastewater regulations
- Infrastructure funding and financing programs
- Workforce development and operator certification
- Environmental compliance and emerging contaminants
- Emergency preparedness and system security
How VRWA Supports Members:
- Shares legislative and regulatory updates through meetings, publications, and member communications
- Works with national and state partners to understand potential impacts on rural and small systems
- Provides educational resources to help systems prepare for change
